Awards and public recognition


During the last twelve years, the work of Steffen Lehmann has been honoured with several architecture and competition awards, and is renowned for its high level of enquiry, design sophistication and material sensitivity. His work is widely published internationally, and has been shown in solo exhibitions at the Aedes Architecture Gallery in Berlin, the Bauhaus in Dessau, Brisbane, London, Frankfurt, Cologne, Dresden, Sao Paulo, New Delhi, United Arab Emirates and Tunis. He has collaborated as design leader with well-known companies based in Tokyo, London, Paris, Berlin, Dubai, Brisbane and Sydney. He has also been invited as keynote speaker at international conferences and lecture programs in the USA, England, Australia, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Tunis and China.

While the Chair and Professor of Architecture at the Queensland University of Technology and at The University of Newcastle, Steffen Lehmann continues to act as an urban design consultant, to serve on panels and as juror in competitions. He is also an active member of advisory boards and advisor to local communities and local government.
